Star of David: Hunting for Beautiful Girls
Here’s the info on our next big release:
Release date: March 31st 2009
Star of David: Hunting for Beautiful Girls is one of the most infamous of Nikkatsu’s classic erotic “Pink” films. Based on a manga by Masaaki Soto, It portrays the life story of Tatsuya, a young man of proper descent whose outward respectability hides his urges for rape and torture. The handsome lad seduces women, then brings them to the basement of the mansion he inherited from his well-to-do parents, where he indulges in lengthy sessions of sado-sexual violence. Superbly directed by Norifumi Suzuki (Sex and Fury, School of the Holy Beast), Star of David is a Japanese erotic cinema classic now available for the first time ever in North America!

This is exceptionally good news, guys, and I wish you all the best with the release.
That you have gotten Suzuki for a commentary is, I believe, a first. He is an extremely interesting filmmaker with close to a dozen amazing films and many more that are very good.
I am pre-ordering this right away from Amazon (if that is possible).
BTW, your BOHACHI release was amazing.
In this rotten economy, I truly wish you great success and hope other fans of the film (and great cinema) will support your investment in this Nikkatsu classic.
It is a tough time for the DVD business (I worked with Norm Hill at Subversive for the last couple of years and know what the market is like), so it is even more admirable that you are bringing this, admittedly, niche classic to Americas (and Region 1).
Best Wishes and a Happy New Year,
MS
